1980s freestanding large angular book donkey / trough with black ends

Beautiful piece, looks handmade rather than from a factory or large scale maker. It’s larger than any trough I have seen before, definitely for hardbacks and meatier tomes rather than penguin paperbacks!

We would guess this dates from the 1980s due to the design and other items it was with.

Nice solid hardwood construction, teak in tone with painted black sides and silver screw caps finish the look.
In very good condition, no obvious marks scrapes or damage to the finish.
