Vintage Ikea Fridene swivel armchair from 2004 by Carina Bengs postmodern style

What a stunning piece, only available for a limited period in the early oughties, this chair has become a classic of vintage Ikea.

Designed by Carina Bengs, with a nod to the work of Charlotte Perrriand - its a low lying armchair that swivels easily 360.

Frame is made of beech, simple bentwood curves reminiscent of Alvar Aalto and nice oversized upholstery. The frame has a few signs of wear but is very nice and moves freely.

Condition is good, the fabric is still the original - but over time the colour has faded in the sun a little. The fabric is still pretty good, but some minor signs of wear. There are people that make new slip covers for these chairs, so they can be reupholstered affordably.
