Vintage Dutch ply and metal compass chair with armrests by Ynske Kooistrar for Marko
Black metal compass legs, that taper nicely to the floor. It's a really comfy and cool chair. Good for an office or for dining. They are mainly seen without the armrests, supposedly as they were made for Universities and only the teacher got the arm support!
Often mis attributed to Friso Kramer or Wim Rietveld - these chairs by Marko are certainly influenced by them, Prouve and the Result chair - but are actually designed by Ynske Kooistrar in the early 1960s.
Condition of the frame and metalwork is great, only minor scuffs or wear. The original feet are still good.
The wooden seat and back have some wear and damage to the varnish finish - the actual wood is strong, but the varnish has gone in some areas. Could be fixed with some TLC.
