Vico Magistretti Carimate dining chair painted in marigold yellow with mustard Kvadrat fabric seat

We had great fun with this chair, it came to us needing some love - the finish had marks all over and the rush seat was a mess. I had always fancied making a fabric seat instead of a rush one for a Carimate, then I saw one of the original adverts and realised that they were sold with fabric seats from the beginning, I just hadn't seen one.

We gave it a spray gloss finish in a vibrant Marigold yellow paint, it has a lovely depth and nuance to the colour. The fabric seat has been made with Kvadrat Canva, a beautiful mustard/turmeric tone that we think compliments the Marigold perfectly.

The condition is really good, no movement in the frame, the seat is obviously brand new so has new foam, lining and fabric - all fire safety compliant. The frame has been primed and sprayed and looks wonderful. It is a vintage chair though, so there are little nicks and indents to the wood which can be seen in the photos, but these are very minor and the brand new paint job means you do not notice them!
