Stunning pair of arts and crafts wooden dining or hallway chairs with green seats by James Phillips and Sons
Beautiful pair of chairs, that we have seen attributed to Ercol but ours have the badge of James Phillips and Sons in Bristol.
Dates them to the 1920s or 1930s.
They are amazingly comfy, with lovely proportions and quite a high seat for their day - which is perfect for modern times and taller people.
The support for the arm travels all the way past the seat onto the lower spacers - reminiscent of Ercol designs, which might be where the association comes from.
Condition is great, small signs of wear but nothing much. Seat has been reupholstered relatively recently and is a simple green fabric in good condition.
We could easily reupholster these for you if you wanted something bespoke.
Please see our other listings for more beautifully designed furniture and homewares.
Collection from South London Mitcham/CR4 if wanted.
