Set of 3 Thonet 1930s bentwood folding chairs with embossed crocodile print on seat and back
Such a classic design, it remains in use over the decades - simple to open and close, easy to store and looks great hanging on a wall.
Beech frame and ply detailing, stained dark with the fabulous embossed crocodile detailing - created by running the wood between large cold steel rollers, making a hard-wearing finish that retains its intricacy.
They are almost a hundred years old, so have signs of wear and use. Some light damage to the finish on the seat and back - The chair is stable and strong, the mechanism moving easily, but we wouldn't recommend them for everyday use due to their age, but they are fine for occasional use.
We have another 1 listed separately, that is a slightly different design without the border edging to the seat.
