Mid Century light oak kidney shaped 1950s dressing table by Kandya with mirrors and drawers
Amazing dressing table, with two slim chests of drawers set at an angle creating space for your knees - a kidney shape top with matching glass cover. Most of the photos show the top without the cover, but it’s a perfectly sized heavy glass top that fits the kidney shape.
There is a guide rail with hooks that runs around the edge of the top - there would have been the option to run a little curtain around the table to ‘hide' it! This has long gone, but the fixings are there if you wanted to create a new one.
The mirrors are adjustable, you can tilt the middle one up or down and angle the outer ones towards the middle or side.
Kandya was a very well respected post war maker, with lots of cutting edge designers working fro them - sadly we cant find the particular name who created this one. We date it to late 1950s or early 1960s.
It is in very good condition, with only a few marks on the top, it must have been without its glass for a bit! One handle at the bottom left has been shipped sadly – we didn't notice it at first!
But otherwise the piece is lovely, nice easy sliding drawers that can store a load for its compact size.
