Vintage wooden well water bucket with iron joints and fastenings

Beautiful antique bucket, we were told it was sold previously as a Chinese antique - but we can't find any markings to prove that, and have seen similar listed as French and Japanese! So lets just agree its a lovely vintage item that clearly is of some age.

It is in lovely condition, though its days of carrying water are gone due to the slight gaps in the bottom. But otherwise it is great and would make a fine log storage next the fire or any number of other storage options.
